Quick presets
A countdown answers a different question than a timer: not “how long from now?” but “how long until then?”. Enter a deadline — a launch, an exam, a holiday, the end of a shift — and the display shows the days, hours, minutes and seconds that are left, recalculated from your device clock on every frame.
How to use the countdown
Pick a target
Enter the date and time you are counting towards, or choose a quick preset such as the start of the next hour.
Start the countdown
Press Start. Days, hours, minutes and seconds update in real time while you keep working elsewhere.
Change the target or reset
Reset clears the countdown, and entering a new date at any time counts towards a different event instead.
Countdown features
Date-accurate, including days
Counts the real difference between now and your target, so deadlines weeks or months away stay correct.
Duration mode
No fixed date? Count down a plain duration instead, such as 90 minutes.
Readable from a distance
Large digits split into days, hours, minutes and seconds, which works on a screen across the room.
Unaffected by background tabs
Remaining time is recalculated from timestamps, so a throttled tab or a sleeping screen cannot slow it down.

Countdown questions
What is a countdown timer?
A countdown timer counts down to a moment — either a duration from now or a specific date and time — showing days, hours, minutes and seconds left.
How does a countdown timer work?
Pick a target date or a quick preset and press Start. The remaining time is computed from timestamps, so it stays correct in background tabs and during device sleep.
How do I set a countdown timer?
Enter a date and time in the target field, or tap a quick target like midnight tonight, then press Start. You can pause, resume and reset the same way as a timer.
How much time is left on the countdown?
The display shows days, hours, minutes and seconds remaining, updated live. When the target passes, the page shows a finished state.
Can I create a countdown to a specific date?
Yes. Use the date picker to choose any future date and time — birthdays, deadlines, holidays, launches — and the countdown measures exactly down to that moment.
Can I create a countdown to midnight?
Yes — tap the "Midnight tonight" preset and press Start. It counts down to the end of today in your local time, handling daylight-saving changes correctly.
Can I pause a countdown?
Yes. Pause freezes the remaining time; resume continues from the same point. For date countdowns you can also just reset and pick a new target.
Can I restart a countdown?
Yes — Reset returns to the original duration so you can start it again with one press.
Can I use a countdown timer on my phone?
Yes. It works on iPhone and Android browsers with the same live days-hours-minutes-seconds display.
